Changes to Brass Imported for 2025

To our fellow shooters and brass customers:.

It has come to our attention that the newest lot of imported RWS brass has a slightly thicker rim than previous lots of brass. This concerns brass purchased after 1 January 2025.

This latest lot of RWS brass meets the German specification (C.I.P. 50 BMG standards drawing dated 95-05-31), which calls for a rim thickness of 0.089 in +/- approximately 0.01 in. Unfortunately, there is no USA nor SAAMI specification, and several primer seaters and shell holders will not accept brass with rims that fall on the thicker side of the C.I.P. specification. We encountered this ourselves with our M2 Precision™ .50 BMG Primer Seater.

We've found that the rim thickness on the new brass averages 0.084 in, with a maximum of 0.086 in. The rim thickness of prior lots of brass was approximately 0.082 in. If you have the ability to measure your reloading tools for this dimension and find that they will accept a 0.086 in thick rim, then the rim thickness of this new brass is not a concern for you. If your tools will not accept the thicker rim, then keep reading for details on how we are working with Warner Tool Company to adjust the brass.

For customers who have not yet purchased brass from us in 2025:
You have the option of purchasing:

• unadjusted brass for $5.70 each, depending on availability. The unadjusted brass will have the thicker rim, up to 0.086 in. Please understand that if you buy unadjusted brass at $5.70 each, you are taking responsibility to know that it will work with your equipment. We will not be doing exchanges for future brass sales.

OR

• brass adjusted by Warner Tool Company for $6.70 each. Warner Tool Company charges $2.10 per piece, and we will pay the additional $1.10. The adjusted brass will be similar to the previous lots of brass with a rim thickness of 0.082 in and will fit a M2 Precision™ .50 BMG Primer Seater.

For customers who have already purchased brass from us in 2025:
You have a couple of options if your reloading tools won't accept the thicker rim:

• Return the unused and unmodified brass to us for a full refund and our sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

OR

• Return the unused and unmodified brass to us, for adjustment by Warner Tool Company for $1 each. We will be paying an additional $1.10 each to Warner Tool Company. Like new purchases, the adjusted brass be similar to the previous lots of brass with a rim thickness of 0.082 in. and will fit a M2 Precision™ .50 BMG Primer Seater. Again, with our sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

Both return options have a deadline of September 30, 2025. If you have already purchased this brass, you will probably have already heard from us. We want to inform each of our customers personally about the thicker rim to save them the disappointment of discovering it on their own.

For 2026: We're still determining if there will be future RWS brass imports. We don't intend to import brass that needs adjustment.
